Planning on a above ground pool with 52" walls and a 72" liner. What kind of taper do I need from the deepest part? and more questions!

I've successfully built a 15ft intex and did quite a nice job if I do say so myself. I leveled that ground like a pro.

The intex has reached the end of it's life and I'd like to upgrade to something this: PoolSupplies.com

There is a 72" expandable liner available for it. I have so many questions.

1) I used foam for the bottom for the intex. I'd prefer to do the same instead of sand for the new one. Are there any concerns here?

2) How do I taper from the deepest part of the pool to the walls. I assume I can't just have a drop off from the edge of the pool walls that goes 20" straight down, right? I assume there's a big risk of the legs and edge falling into the deeper part from erosion due to rain or leaks.

3) how do I cover the tapered area (which is assume is called the cove) in foam? the purple foam I used from home depot isn't exactly flexible and won't curve. Is there something else I can use?

4) can i use my current A frame ladder? There is no deck around the pool. . Looking at it I think it will end up sliding into the pool. Can I attach this to the side of the pool without being concerned about causing structural issues if the weight of the person on the ladder gets transferred to the side wall?

5) what else haven't I thought about?

foam for the bottom
When you say for what do you mean? I am guessing you mean the rigid house foam. I want to make sure before I answer this one.
A cove is a must to keep the liner inside the pool wall. It can be made of sand but the best is to get in it foam like this:

You can use it. I will got into what the bottom of your pool will look like in the end.

You will need a "shelf" all the way around the inside of the pool. The very things you worry about is why. This should be big enough for some one to stand on if wanted/needed. You can even make the part by the ladder a bit bigger to make more of a hang out area there.

Foam: yes. XPS purple foam.

cove: I recall reading somewhere that pool cove foam wasn't great and there was a better choice but I don't recall where.

How big does the shelf have to be? Is it safe to assume the shelf needs to be designed to match what the liner is designed for? Or is there a standard? I looked at the liner instructions and it mentions nothing about this. https://media.leisureliving.com/media/5243b7ce77bee5f362e04b73c8470565.pdf
