Pinhole Leaks in PB4SQ Housing

I did not find any posts where the "pinhole" leak was in the side of the housing like this.







My only thought at this point is to slap some JB Weld on there but I'm betting there's a better solution.

I appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.

There have been some reports of defective PB4SQ pumps with leaks in various areas.

How old is the pump?

You try making a warranty claim with Pentair?

The pump was purchased and installed January 2020. I'll contact them and start my hunt for the receipt!

Looks like the warranty was only 12 months.

I doubt anything like JB Weld will be a permanent fix.

A new pump body costs around $100...

Yep, looks like $90 and another $30 for the mechanical seal. Hoping they're actually in stock.
