Pinch me please....I'm finally getting my own pool...My Dream pool!

I'm with MamaDuck1212 - Sometimes I have to listen to ocean waves and calm myself down when I see what other people get for the $$$ versus what I get here in Cali.

Loving the design of your pool. We did the same thing, albeit over a much longer timespan of about 6 months - thinking we wanted one thing, then realizing, no, that won't look right, and changing to something different. It's stressful making so many decisions that you know you're gonna have to live with for a long time.

In the end, you gotta be you! I'm sure no one else would have designed their pool in our yard the same way we did. And I see other people's designs and no matter how great they are, I'm sure if it were my yard and my pool there are some things I'd do differently. So sometimes no matter what anyone else says or how much someone else (or even everyone else) may hate it, if you love something and it's going to make you happy - I say go for it!

That being said, your pool looks mighty awesome. I love the shelf around the spa!

Thanks Hollywood! I can't believe how expensive everything is in Cali! I am from New York, but can't fathom the prices anymore. You are wise in that at the end of the day, we need to follow our hearts. I am pretty tired of making decisions at the moment, but luckily we are almost done!

Your pool design is great! It fits your yard beautifully! At the end of the day, it not how big or fancy, or even how much bling (sorry Kim), it's abut having something to bring our friends and family together. I plan to use my pool fully in this capacity, as I am sure you will do the same!

On your design, how will you get to the slide? Do you have to go across the grass to get there? If so, I would suggest making a path to get to the slide without having to go through grass, you will end up with grass and/or dirt in your pool. Think about when kids want to use the slide, they will be loving that slide and will be looking for the shortest route from end of slide to get back to the top again. It looks like they're going to have to go all the way to the shallow end, up and around the fire pit and across the grass to get back up there. Think about a ladder or steps in the deep end to get out and get back to the bottom of the path going to the slide.

EDIT: I just noticed in your first picture what looks like it might be a rock path from the deep end up to the top of the slide, must have missed that before, if that's what it is.

Also, I have to agree on the rocks around the spa and on the ledge. It's going to be tough to keep clean and takes up some useful space that you could use for lounging, sitting, etc. Overall I love the design and see what you're going for, but practicality wins out for me.

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestions. That is a rock path up to the slide. It is actually two different paths. One from the fire pit and one from the deep end. My PB wanted the kids to have the easiest path possible.

I think I am going to keep the rocks. My husband wants to set his drinks on them..lol! My PB will be servicing the pool, so I will ask them if it will be an up-charge and difficult. After 7 months of drawings, I really don't see any more changes. Thanks again for the thoughts, as I will address with the PB.

Ok, I got my bling tile today...Love it! It changes colors every time the light changes!
I think I found my pavers too! Here's pictures of the tile ...Pavers to come later ;)
