PH testing question

I test my 13000 gallon pool once a week for PH. I have noticed that I get different readings depending on where I take the water sample. This morning the deep end measured 7.4 using A Taylor K2006 test kit. I then obtained a sample from the shallow end and that measurement was 8.0. One drop brings the PH to 7.6. Samples were obtained at elbow depth. Water temperature was 70. Is this normal?

Depending on the shape of the pool and the placement of the skimmers and returns you can have some areas of stagnant water and the chemistry can be slightly different.

Do you have a pool cleaner that runs around the bottom of the pool daily to mix the water?

Most likely a testing error.

TA?
TA=70ppm

I just retested my PH and got 7.8 at both previous testing locations. I guess I will be testing in the afternoon. I have no problems and LSI/CSI reading near zero. Thanks for the help
