PH keeps lowering

Last year I constantly had to add MA to lower my PH. This year it keeps lowering? So far all I'm doing is aeration to keep it up. Should I just add baking soda? Will that be more permanent?

pH will not drop unless you are adding a chemical or you are adding acidic water.

What other chemicals are you adding?

With your high CH, you want to keep the pH and TA low anyway.

Sometimes I add liquid chlorine after a pool party. I have a water softener to refill the pool with. Nothing else.

I assume you are doing your own testing with a proper test kit.

Any chance that you accidentally added acid when you thought it was liquid chlorine?

pH really doesn't drop on its own. Have you added any cyanuric acid recently?

Are you sure that the pH test reagent is good and that you're doing the test correctly?

What are the pH and TA of the fill water?
