Ph is high!!!

You will want to test your CYA once the ammonia is gone. CYA is food for the bacteria that creates the ammonia. You are killing the bacteria as well as eliminating the ammonia.
 
OK ---
Target 7.5 pH with a Now at 8. Add your muriatic acid based on that. Be sure your TA is input into PoolMath.
Circulate pool for 30+minutes and test pH again. Repeat until your pH reaches in the 7's. Test TA every couple times, and if it reaches 50 ppm add baking soda to bring it back to 70 ppm.

Once you can get your pH in the low 7's, start your SLAM.
 
Yes. When you add acid, it lowers pH by consuming (lowering) Alkalinity. Then pH rises due to carbon dioxide outgassing.
