My PH is high all of a sudden I tested it and it’s been dark dark pink for the past week. The test only goes up to 8.2 so it’s saying to add 7 ounces of muriatic acid is there anything else I can do to bring the pH down? And is there anyway to know if a higher than 8.2 or does it not matter if it’s higher than 8.2? Here’s a pic of the test.

I don't see a pic (yet), but can you tell us what is your TA?

Also, your signature is blank so we know nothing about your pool. What type of pool is this? Do you have a fountain, spill-over, bubblers, etc?
Where is that infor supposed to go where it says pull details i have all of that we have bubblers and a tiny spill over. You asked what is my TA what is TA?

I think i added all you need now can someone help me?
Post a full set of results when you can, as @proavia has suggested.

Are you using pool math for your chemical suggestions? If not, get it. Link-->PoolMath

In general, rising pH is caused by high TA and low pH. Hence the question about your TA, and the request for a full set of results.

When you make pH adjustment down, use muriatic acid. Any other pH lowering chemical causes other issues and should be avoided.

When you adjust pH, you should not adjust more than .4 in each attempt. The pH calculations are just not accurate with larger changes.

So, with pH above the top test number, you don't actually know what it is. Then, lower your pH in .4 increments (you can .2 also), use pool math to calculate the amount. Add the acid slowly to the pool, pencil stream in front of a return, pump running. Test 30 minutes later. If you need another adjustment to get to target, repeat the .4 (or smaller).

If your TA is high (>~90), then pH will rise more rapidly and you can safely lower pH to 7.6. Over time when you do this, TA will also come down. When TA is 60-80, pH will be fairly stable between 7.8 and 8.0, which is just fine.

You should also test your fill water TA. If fill water is high TA, as you add more water due to evaporation, it will raise TA and increase your pH rise.

"Z", you did a good job filling out your signature. :goodjob: Our next step is knowing more about your water tesing method and results, not just the pH. Accurate water testing is key. FYI - TA stands for Total Alkalinity. You can read more about that and many other concepts on our Pool Care Basics page.
