I add bleach to my salt pool but the ph has not come up yet, what else can I use to bring the ph up.
I only have a 3 way tester and my chlorine is at 2.0What are you using to test? What are the rest of the test results?
Can I use ph up made by Clorox to bring the ph upRead pH section of Recommended Pool Chemicals - Trouble Free Pool and ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry
My ph is at 6.8Sorry-- ph up -- not down!
ph up is soda ash ---- aka washing soda.
Hear are my readingsWill it raise your pH? I'm sure it will. There are probably cheaper options, and without knowing your current pH and TA from a reliable source (like your own test kit) it's hard for us to say what we'd recommend, or to give advice on how well that product will work for you. (I checked the SDS, it's sodium carbonate.)
My Ta 0What is the TA? A pH of 6.8 you are better off using aeration to raise it.
My TA is reading 0Marty beat me to it and I agree that you really need to test your TA. Low pH is an unusual problem with salt pools and is often indicative that the TA may be low. As well since pH tests have a limited range it is possible for it to be lower than 6.8 and a TA test would validate whether this is the case.
I added 3 gallons of muriatic acid because I had a very high ph reading but now I believe my digital ph was brokenTA of 0 implies a pH in the 4's, if correct. You had to add lots of acid to get there.
I am not thrilled with the test equipment, so my recommendations are prefaced that your test data could be very wrong, but based on what you have given us --
Use Poolmath. Enter pH of 6.8 now with target of 7.5. Enter a TA of 0. Add the amount of soda ash/washing soda Poolmath says. Circulate for 30 minutes, test pH, repeat until you read a pH in the 7's. Then test TA.
If your pool water is cloudy, you need a better test kit to properly clear the algae from it.
If that was full strength MA, you crashed your pH and TA. You now must reverse that. Never, never, add that much acid in to a pool. Your pH could never be that high.I added 3 gallons of muriatic acid because I had a very high ph reading but now I believe my digital ph was broken
The reader said 14 but now I know it was wrong ? how do I reverseIf that was full strength MA, you crashed your pH and TA. You now must reverse that. Never, never, add that much acid in to a pool. Your pH could never be that high.
