Pentair VS pump won’t start after cleaning basket

I have a Pentair vs pump with a Hayward cartridge filter.
I was trying to clean the basket so I followed instructions from the manual. Turned off power in the pump pad, released the air release valve on top of filter, opened the strainer pot lid & removed basket to clean. Reinserted basket. Had a hard time putting cover back on as water was spuing out from basket. Finally got it locked on. Basket was full of water so I did not add more water to prime. Pushed start on keypad display and opened air release valve again waiting for water to flow out from valve. Water did not dispense from valve and ERR appeared on keypad. Pump would not start. Keypad display completely dark, no lights on at all. Would appreciate input as to what to do next?

I assumed that you turned off the power at a circuit breaker.. I'd turn that breaker off and back on again.

Nothing you did should make the pump's display go blank other than the breaker is not reset, or bad.
