Pentair UltraTemp connected to Intellicenter

Show me a picture of the UltraTemp panel when the fan is running and the compressor is not...

See photos. Compressor seems to be running. If I switch the ultra temp to manual, it immediately stops when I increase temp.

The IntelliCenter says the HP is IDLE and the HP says it is COOLING.

I would call Pentair Support and discuss it with them.

What IntelliCenter version are you running?

Time to get Pentair support involved and if necessary make a warranty claim.

Where did you purchase the HP from and who did the installation?

Did you change any parameters in the HP control panel while "trying to make it work" the way you changed the address to 2?

I would reset everything back to factory defaults, including the address. Pentair has many bugs that come out when things are changed from the defaults.

I did not, even changed address back to 1 and updated IC. With the manual not mentioning IC automation, is it correct to assume the proper way of connection is just using the COM ports and the yellow/green wire? Manual references the spade connection ?

Yes.

Pentair does a lousy job of keeping manual up to date with connection to their other products.

Interesting enough, when a Pentair tech came out for my last unit, they stated that dint know how I was operating the HP remotely with this connection method and it needed an additional relay? Which contradicts the manual and Pentair HP tech support I spoke with.

Does your HP heat and cool the water?

Does the fan turn on and off when in heat mode?

Not sure if it heats or cools, haven’t ran it long enough yet.

I did just try the heat function, it turned on when and off through app like it should .

Did your prior UltraTemp work well enough for you to see how the cool function worked?

It sounds to me like the IC and HP are communicating and the HP is following the IC RS-485 commands.

Have you powered the IC and HP and rebooted it all now that you have the correct connection and see if anything resets?

I did reboot, the heat function is working correctly( heating and turning on and off through app) the cooling function is working to turn on the unit but will not turn it off. The below pics are 10 minutes after I increased temp in app. I would assume HP should be off by now.

Update: I reverted my intellicenter software to a previous firmware, now it automates correctly..

On another note just prior to the update I notice the Pentair Home App and the Intellicenter was not showing the proper cooling set points, only showing the heating, although the Ultratemp was functioning correctly. See screen shots, and please advise of solutions. Pentair was unable to provide guidance.

You are caught in the IntelliCenter software update mess.

Pentair has had ongoing problems getting the UltraTemp cooling to work correctly.

2.017 should have been better with more fixes then 1.064 but it did not work for you.

All you can do is wait for the next IntelliCenter software version and see if Pentair gets things right.
