Pentair pump Error 0021

Y,

Give us a clue as to what specific pump you have.. Pentair has several models..

The first thing that pops into my mind is there is limited water getting to the pump.. Either due to low pool water or a weir door stuck up.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Yeah I saw that thread, no answers.
I called pentair they said to take the cover off and disconnect the cable and reconnect. If that doesn’t solve the issue then my pump has reached its end of life.
I tried, no problems again until I open the line for the cleaner and close the main drain. Tried it with the regular hose ans pole cleaner instead of my MX8. Pump does
It again

Y,

If this were my pool, as a test, I would disconnect the cleaner from the hose and see what happens...

Forgetting about the code itself, the pump seems to be running out of water.. If the pump works fine when pulling from the main drain and then not from the cleaner, I doubt it is a pump issue.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Y,

First thing to do is see if the problem in in the cleaner or the flex line to the cleaner, or the hard pipe to the vac port.. Could also be that the valve that should open and close the cleaner port is not working.

If this were my pool, I'd hold the vac port cover open and see if the pump works when in the vac position.. If not, you know it is not the hose or the cleaner itself.

I would then take the valve apart and make sure it is not clogged and moves like it should.

If you think the clog is between the valve and the pool, then use a Drain King and a water hose to force water through the vac line.

Thanks,

Jim R,

I’m getting err 0021 on my display. The pool stops and reprimes, stops gives error code and primes over and over. Any ideas what could be the cause?
Thanks in advance.
I also had the 0021 code and like you said, the pump would restart and prime multiple times. I know this is an old thread but I found my fix in removing the end cover plate on external fan and cleaning out between the top of the pump and control panel base. I removed both fan cover and control panel housing and found a lot of build up between causing the pump to get hot. After that it was good to go. Of course always throw breaker before doing this service.

Thank you @Jkrags! I too have the SuperFlow VS and I too started getting Error 0021. I tried checking and verifying all the wiring and connectors including grounds, but continued getting the Error 21 and the pump would shut down and re-prime a few minutes later. Then I saw this post about possibly overheating (my VS drive was hot to the touch). I pulled off the drive housing and fan cover to find my drive heatsink clogged with debris. I got it cleaned out (before and after pics below) and no problem since! Thanks again!!
