I have a Pentair Mastertemp 400 that's leaking. It looked like the water manifold was leaking so I replaced all the O rings. Now I have water dripping out of the white plastic air inlet. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to fix this? Thank you all and Merry Christmas to everyone!

The heat exchanger is probably corroded.
All the water is sealed in the heat exchanger. Any water internal in the burner can is likely a heat exchanger leak.

That's kinda what I figured. When I changed the O rings, only about 1/2 of the copper pipes had nipples on them. Unlike the picture where all of them have nipples sticking out. Thank you for the help!

That's what I was afraid of. This one only lasted 5 years. Its even inside. Is there a different one that has a better track record?

I use bleach, injected into the return with a pump down stream from all equipment. We have an automatic cover so the pool always stays closed. I generally keep the chlorine levels low, or at least I thought I did.

Well, that could be it. Looks like I'm in the market for a heater. If it were you, would you replace the entire thing, or just get a replacement heat exchanger?

The exchanger is typically half or more the cost of a new heater. So a new heater would be a better choice.
Thats what I was thinking based on what I saw when I looked them up. Thank you for the guidance.

As Marty said, heat exchangers get killed by acidic water. All pool heaters heat exchangers use the same material in the heat exchangers.
The MasterTemp HD heater features a cupro-nickel heat exchanger, instead of copper, which is more tolerant of harsh conditions such as low ph, high flow, and heavy use. You might want to consider that model.
