I’m getting a afs light on my pool heater i have done my troubleshooting and have determined that it’s not anything that’s blocking air flow to the blower etc I think it is the air flow switch itself now I know realistically it’s unsafe to run the heater with like the high limit switch bypassed etc definitely understandable but if I were to bypass the airflow switch is it just as dangerous or would it be okay it’s not a forever thing but just until I can afford the new airflow switch

Bypassing the AFS should not work.

The board checks for the AFS being OPEN before it starts the blower. If the AFS is bypassed and closed you will get an AFS fault.

Then the FENWAL checks for the AFS being closed before it starts the ignition sequence.
