Pentair IntelliPH P/N 521377

I have the Intellicenter with IC40. From what I read this unit works well? Does anyone know if I can control the IntelliPH through the Intellicenter? I've read other posts that it doesn't control through the Easy Touch. Wanted to be sure before I bought it. Want to get it before I go on vacation this summer .

Most people do not need the IpH.. It just makes simple harder to do.

If you are building a new Saltwater pool, then I suggest that you just wait and see if you really need acid control.

From members reports the IntellipH works well when properly maintained. It needs periodic maintenance and is not "smart". It basically does acid on a timer and you need to determine the proper acid doses.

Hi Jim,

The Pool is done. It's been done for 3 weeks now. This is our 2nd pool and our last pool I would add Acid about on e a week sometimes 9-10 days. However, since this is a new pool it rises quickly. I lower it down to 7.2 and it hold lower for about 3 days or so and slowly begins to rise. I'm going on a vacation in about 3 weeks for about 10 days and kind of wanted it in place as I don't have someone to do it.

Drop it to 7.2 right before you leave and it should be manageable when you get back.

Hi Ajw ya I saw it wasn't smart, but can I control the percentage from the intellicenter? What type of periodic maintenance?

I would rather let the pH climb for 10 days then have a newly installed IntellipH dosing acid automatically for 10 days without any pH tests or monitoring.

Low pH is much more likely to do damage then high pH.

You cannot control any part of the IntellipH from the Intellicenter. All percentage control is done from the IpH control board.

Periodic maintenance - Pentair recommends changing the pump tube yearly. That is all that I am aware of, other than examining the o-ring each time you remove the lid.

If you have intellicenter and want pH control and monitoring, you can add Intellichem. For me, closed-loop pH control has been nearly effortless since install last summer. I've literally done nothing but add MA to the tank every couple of weeks. I live in the desert with 120 TA tap water so pH always climbs here and I feel intellichem is valuable. You are supposed to replace the acid tubing and pump head every so often as a preventative measure but so far I haven't done that.

So I see with the IntelliChem there is a tank for MA and another for Chlorine. Do you have to use the chlorine tank or can the IntelliChem control a IC40 on how much and how often to make chlorine? Thanks would be awesome!

Intellichem can control your IC-40. You don't have to use a chlorine tank. You can set the intellichem for the on and off minutes you want the IC-40 to run to set the percentage. I'm currently running 5 minutes off/12 minutes on 24/7.

I don't really know the best sources for stuff. Mine came with my pool. I think you want a Pentair 522621. This is the intellichem controller and acid tank and pump.
