Pentair intellifloXF VSF pump lossing comm (replaced control) Repaired

Sorry you are having this problem. I had the exact same issue with my system, it turned out that the socket that the wires plug into to communicate had a broken part in the housing so when the plug was “pushed in” it wouldn’t always make a connection with the wires and that is why it kept losing connection. You could try pulling off the screws on that housing to see if you have the same issue so you don’t have a tech come out and flash your firmware only to have the issue reoccurr.

Hopefully they can get to the bottom of your issue.

Thanks all for the feedback. I know I'm not in pool country but am I small area of the Northeast there are a lot of pools. However a lot them are definitely older. Maybe that's more the issue why the tech in this area aren't fully up to speed.

I just had a weird thing happen yesterday where all my automation stopped. It was like easy touch had a brain fart it wouldn't read the temperature of the pool and turned off the chlorine generator. I had to reboot the system twice before it started working again. Hopefully just a fluke. I have disconnected my pump from automation and running it manually for the last couple weeks.

I'll check this out and I did disconnect and reconnect everything when this problem first happened a couple years ago. My warranty also essentially expires at the end of this summer (because I'm not running my pool over the winter) I really want any fix that pentair does to be up and running for a couple months to verify that it did fix the issue.

Just got an update they are sending a new controller for the pump vs flashing the firmware. Maybe there are other issues that software wont fix.

They installed the new control for the pump took about 10 minutes. Very nice design by Pentair to make it that easy of service. FYI the firmware is 2.11.
Now the real test to see if the pump stays running.

Just wanted to follow up it's been almost 2 weeks since they installed the new control on the pump. I haven't had a communication error since. Hopefully this keeps up. I'm glad they installed a whole new control versus just flashing firmware I'm so leery of anything built during COVID era it's nice to have a post COVID control.
