Pentair Intelliflor VSP 3HP - turned off by itself

I am new to this pool stuff.
This is new equiment (installed in March 2022). I had some recent work done and a pool tech person asked if my pump has randomly shut off by chance, said the firmware on the pump needs to be updated..?

The pump had not shut off prior to him asking me that question a few weeks ago, and just yesterday I noticed my pump off. Is firmware something I can update myself on my pump? It is connected to an EasyTouch 8, which I checked the software on that, and it seems to be up to date.

I haven’t heard of any problems with latest firmware as of yet. I would call Pentair and ask. If there is a problem with latest firmware, they will send someone out to flash it with previous version under warranty.

I have never heard of an IntelliFlo pump that needed a F/W update.

I suspect that you manually turned on the pump at just the wrong time and the schedule got screwed up and the pump shut off when the egg-timer timed out. If true, it will reset itself the next cycle.

Just make sure the pump starts at the next start cycle and shuts off when it should.

If not, let us know and I'm sure that we can get you pointed in the right direction.
