Pentair IntelliFlo Variable Speed Pump

Hi everyone,

There is an issue with my pump I believe. Every time a schedule that uses GPM pump stars at a significantly higher speed and don't know why. Then it slows down after 30 mins or so.

Is there a setting I need to turn off?
Does the pump has a speed sensor? maybe damaged or need to be cleaned.

Is this pump schedule on the pump itself or an automation system (Easytouch, Intellicenter, ...)

GPM mode uses internal sensors that cannot be adjusted.

RPM mode is more reliable than GPM mode.

Why do you think you need to know GPM?? In real life, almost no one does.

If it's just first coming on, then your priming settings are probably set to prime for 30 minutes for some reason. The lowest prime speed is 65%, so it ramps up even at the lowest.

It is best to not mix GPM and RPM in your schedules. All of them be GPM (which as Jim stated, is not really necessary) or RPM.
