Pentair intelliflo 011018 (2017) Leaking at bottom

All I am pretty sure that my intelliflo is leaking at the shaft. It had been for quite a while and when I got into opening it up the backplate broke off and I had to drill out a bolt from the motor. I bought a non Pentair backplate and put everything back together again using new bolts and I also replaced the shaft seal from a non pentair kit online from amazon that was cheap. Given that, the pump is still leaking from the bottom. I don't see water around the backplate to the pump housing so I am fairly certain that the backplate isn't leaking. I did use the seal that came with the backplate on it as well. At this point I think I just need maybe a new shaft seal (both parts) but I am not certain. Anyone have any advice on what they might do next and which actual shaft seal I should probably be using?

Normal seal is a PS1000. The Viton (better) seal is a PS3865 or PS3865R.
You should always replace the entire seal (both parts) whenever the impeller is removed or a new sealplate is installed. Get a 1" PVC coupler to drive the bellows portion into the sealplate. Be sure to put a small amount of silicone sealant on the stainless-steel portion that is driven into the seaplate.
There are no "Pentair" seals, they purchase them from a seal manufacturer, even if in a Pentair-branded kit.
