Hello...I have been troubleshooting this issue for a few days now and was finally awaiting the Pentair fuse pack to arrive before replacing in the power center to see if that resolved the issue. After replacing the fuse and fuse holder inside of the power center, the power LED indictor is not lit up and the salt cell is not powering on either.

Once note...when I originally removed the cover to the power center, it was infested with ants which I quickly exterminated and cleaned from the inside of the unit.

I guess I have a few questions about this issue. Do these Pentair Intellichlor power centers also die and need to be replaced? How often and assume they do not need to be replaced when the salt cell is replaced periodically? Lastly, being a new pool owner, can ants kill pool electronics and could this be the cause of the unit not powering up...even after replacing the fuse?

Thanks for the help TFP nation!

PT,

The AC power goes into the power center and through the fuse (On your unit) and then goes into a step down transformer The output of the transformer should be about 28 Volts AC.. You should check the you have either 120 VAC or 240 VAC going into the transformer and that you have about 28 VAC going to the board..

The board changes the 28 VAC into about 40 volts DC.. If you have 28 VAC going into the board and do not have 40 VDC coming out, the board is bad..

I would run this test with cell disconnected, as it can sometimes load the DC voltage down..

Thanks,

Jim R.
