Pentair IChlor30 replacement

I have an ichlor 30 SWG that has to be over 7 years old. This past season I had to run it at a higher percentage (70%) to keep my levels good. I want to buy a new cell to have as a replacement/spare, should I stay with the ichlor 30 or go with the ic40 cell?? Cost of the ic40 is almost twice of the ichlor 30 and I will need to make minor piping modifications to fit the ic40. With this in mind, should I just stick with the ichlor 30 or upgrade to the ic40 cell?

Replace with the IntelliChlor IC40. The IntelliChlor cells are much more robust versus the iChlor cells.

The Pentair IntelliChlor has IC20, IC40, and IC60 cells. The Pentair iChlor SWG is a lower end chlorine generators for pools with 15,000 gallons or less. TFP recommends that SWG capacity be at least 2X the pool volume.

The iChlor cells are being replaced by IntelliChlor LT cells. And they will fit into your existing pipe.

I would not buy an iChlor now if it is not immediately needed. Wait, if you can, until the LT cells are available.

I heard about the new LT cells, but the price for the new cells are listed to be over $1500. Do you think it is worth waiting for the new cells knowing I can replace it with a current model for significantly less? Trying to figure out what benefit I will have getting the new LT model.

I think they will be higher quality cells but but you seem to have done fine with your IC30. If you want to give a try to another IC30 then go for it.
