I have a 13,500 volume pool. I went to Leslie‘s with this pool filter in mind because I did my research that it was adequate for my small pool. The manager there tried to talk me out of it and to get a much bigger filter with four filters When I refused and insisted, I wanted this one. He was very shut off and went in the back and the other employee helped me order it and schedule me for the free install, which in the end, I realized they upped the price to pay for the install after installation. Now I’m here with a filter that is not filtering. I ran the pump for seven days straight in my pool never cleared when I called eight days later to complain and see what they could do the manager, which was mad said oh yeah I remember you I told you that was not sufficient for your pool to filter so I don’t know if him and install guy are in cahoots And somehow installed this filter where it does not fill up with water and my pressure valve gauge shows 2. according to my many hours of research, this filter is good enough for a 42000 volumn pool according to inyopools.com and many more searches .they’re scheduled to come out Monday the same installer and I don’t know what to expect. please let me know if I’m wrong on my research.

Welcome to TFP! I have a single cart C-1200 for my almost 18K pool. It works fine. While you could've gone with a bigger filter to help reduce the time intervals between cleaning, I highly doubt that's your water clarity problem. I would first start by posting us a full set of water test results from either a TF-100/Pro-Series test kit or a Taylor K-2006C. More than likely it's a chemistry issue. Get one of those kits if you don't have one already and post those numbers. Also tell us any/all chemicals added to-date.

We'll get you through this.

Some links to help. By the way, I recommend the TF-100 or TF-Pro Series, but do what feels best for you.

Also, post a picture of the filter that includes the plumbing going to and from it. A broader view is better than one too close. These are pretty simple things to install - so if when you open the pressure gauge at the top to bleed off air - and nothing ever comes out, something is way off.

JoC,

I am not saying you are 'wrong', but things have changed over the past few years..

Many have pools now have VS pumps, and the larger the filter, the slower you can run the pump.

My recommendation to everyone is to buy the biggest cartridge filter that you can afford...

That said, I think you have the wrong idea what the filter is for.. It is not there to keep you from getting algae, or for 'clearing' your pool.. It is simply there to capture all the junk the falls into your pool and floats into your skimmers...

Show us some pics of your equipment pad, and your pool, so we can get an idea of how your filter is plumbed, and also what you are trying to 'clear' out of your pool.

Thanks,

Jim R.
