Hi - I'm in a similar boat to others with the Chlorinator losing communication as soon as the pump starts running. The other posts mention that the chlorinator should be wired through the Pump Filter Relay and it appears mine is?

The chlorinator still is on and has lights it just shows the communication lost error.

Attached are some pictures:

This forum is awesome BTW, really love reading the posts and seeing people figure out things. I've mostly left the pool to experts since I'm afraid of the high voltage but maybe I need to be reading the manuals and figuring it out as it's really hard to get good help for Pentair these days.

Dave,

Let's see if you have a real com issue or not...

Using the EasyTouch, adjust your SWCG's output and see what happens.. If it is at say 40, adjust it way up to 80%.. Give it a good 5 or 10 minutes and go and see if the lights on the cell have changed from 40 to 80%...

If they do change then the EasyTouch is talking with the cell..

Do you have ScreenLogic??

It appears your SWCG transformer is wired to the load side of the pump filter, but hard to tell for sure with the color of the wires.. As a quick test, just to make sure, use the EasyTouch's mode button and place the system into the Service mode.. This will shut off the pump.. Do NOT press the 'F' button...

Give it about a minute or so and go look at the cell.. it should have no lights at all.. Then push the mode button again until the EasyTouch shows AUTO.. Give everything about 5 minutes to come back up.

Let me know what happens..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Hey - I found out that the chlorinator wasn't plugged into the COM port, just the pump. My tech moved the pump COM jack to the SWCG panel and then the SWCG panel to the main Pentair board. I'm now seeing the chlorinator data. Thanks so much for your help Jimrahbe! You're an awesome human being for helping us newbs out here.
