My pool has a yellow stain from alge I have scrubbed it have , I got it because my SWG checked cell, I did this and it was plunged with whits crust, I cleaned per directions and t weeks it is back, What is causing this?

It's probably iron. Do you have a picture?

Try vitamin C on the stain.

Soda Ash increases pH, and TA, alot.

Baking Soda = big TA change, small pH change
Borax = Big pH change, small TA change
Washing Soda (Soda Ash) = big pH change, big TA change. Probably more TA change than you want.

I think you have this upside down..

Soda Ash increases pH... Muriatic Acid (MA) reduces pH
