Pentair 400 Mastertherm heater issue

So what you are saying is that I need to test the fireman switch relay.
Correct.

Right now I have the two yellow wires at the bottom of this switch connected with a wire nut and the wires from the Jandy are not connected (which allowed me run the heater from its control).

Good. That proves your heater works fine.

What do I need to do to test the fireman switch?

You mean the heater relay on the board?

As discussed above use the continuity test on your multimeter and see if the relay closes when you request heat on the Aqualink. See post #15.

Thanks for all of your input. Tested the continuity and it did not change whether the heater button was activated or not. Found a small nick in the wire from the Aqualink and when I cut that out and used wirenuts to reconnect the wire the heater started up when I pushed the heater button (after a small delay and what looked like c17 on the heater control panel. So now I just need to get a new wire to make the repair permanent.
