We
had huge rains yesterday, so i haven't added anything since early yesterday morning, the pool has cleared up today, not crystal clear, but closer. PSI is nearing 22 on filter.

CH being 500 is problematic since our water is very hard here, which is odd, because i swear that faucet on that side of the house fills with water softened water, will have to check, and maybe add more. I just turned on edge, so it's going to be mixing in rain water now.

Ta was 3 drops so 30 ta

Quick update.. I am baffled by this pool.Maybe it was all the rain, maybe it was the tons and tons of moss i pulled out of the pool etc.. But, now the PH with taylor is easily a light pink, probably 8ish and the TA is up to 40 now. i did acid demand drop test, and it was 2 drops. so bookley says 1.15 QT of acid, which doesn't sound like much. I haven't added any of the Baking soda since yesterday morning, a couple handfuls. Not much.

Strip test shows it'd be 7.2 which is very much off the taylor kit.
 
Strips are worthless...just throw the bottle of them away. Your drop based tests are much more reliable.

Can you please post a full set of test results -

That will help us to help you. A couple of questions -

1. How is the water clarity? Has the haziness gone a way?

2. How has this pool been chlorinated up to this point? Bleach, powder, pucks in a floater, what has been used?

3. Did your filter get cleaned? If so, what was the clean filter pressure? What is the filter pressure now?

It's been hectic here with rain/wind etc.. and now they added salt yesterday, so the aquapure will start tonight hopefully. I just tested and the water ph was very high, it took 3 or 4 drops to bring it back under 7.4 things a bit in transition. I am sure i'll need to put a half gallon of acid now. I guess i need to order some supplies.My ph seems to rise quickly. A lot of fill water was added this morning for some reason, when you add salt, does that reduce water? I think they added 9 bags, but i forgot the exact #
 
It is quite normal for pH to rise quickly in newly plastered pools (a Pebble finish is a type of plaster finish). I can't tell you technically (though its a real thing) but its the surface releasing goodies into the water raising the pH. This will continue for several months + and slow down over time. However, a SWCG will also cause your pH to rise due to the outgassing (from the bubbles) that occurs as part of the chlorine generation process. The more it runs, the more it raises pH generally. So just always have MA on hand and test daily for pH in the early going.

Vital to get the test results requested though to analyze all aspects. I'd squeeze in the 5-10 minutes to do all the tests and display as above so you can get detailed/appropriate feedback.

I will try.I don't think there is much chlorine at all in there, since i only have 2 of those chlorine tabs in the trough.I only have done the PH and TA today, and they were 8 for Ph and TA was probably 50, i say probably because it would depend how "red" you want the water to be.I count it as "red" once it goes from clear to reddish. 4 to start to see the pink, and 5 for darker. Pool is not overly cloudy, it's coming back after all the brushing and salt addition last evening.
 
You need to get that PH down. Use Pool Math to see how much muratic acid to use. Test 30 mins after adding to see where you are. It could be higher than you think.

CYA-GLANCE at the dot only. If stare you will see it. You can pour the mix back and forth to get an average or to get someone else to look at for you.

I am going to store in a bit and buy some measuring cups etc.. i don't want beat down for taking the kitchen stuff, and i don't want to over add acid. But, it looks like it's gonna be tough now.

Salt is 3500 set at 70%

Unfortunately no home depot close by, so i may have to try a pool store or pay a little more at lowes
 
My pool has TWO plastic measuring cups. One is for chlorine and one is for Mur. Acid. Make sure you M.A. is well away from the chlorine AND where it is well vented AND away for metal.

Yeah better not take the kitchen stuff! "honey where is my good measuring cup?" does not have a good ending!
