Been using Pleatco pc7-120 for a few years and they seem to work well, last a lot longer than the cheap ones you can get at the local big box store. Everywhere I look though that has them at a not inflated price has them out of stock though. Should I just hang tight and use the cheap store ones until I can get a new one, or are there good alternatives out there for the A/C type filters I should look at too?

In late 2021 Pentair purchased Pleatco. The good deals you got from using them are probably over.

Check the Filbur FC-3710. Filbur makes a good product.
