Parts in SWG??

Everyone,
Thank y’all, I really appreciate the input and advice. I didn’t quite expect that much of a response but glad to know there is such a wealth of knowledge on here. I’ve put a few picture below of the full setup and fill out my signature as Dirk suggested. I appreciate any other bits of advice y’all are willing to send my way. Have a good day!

Great job on the signature and pics!
Get your test kit ordered. One of these. (Test Kits Compared.) Recommend the kit with salt and stirrer.
You've got Jandy valves. Those are top notch and repairable should they have any problems.
You've got a proper backflow preventer on your auto-fill line. That's great. That type is testable, and repairable.
You've got labels. An SWG. And some automation.

It's ugly (nothing a little spray paint can't fix), but has some good bones. We'll get you sorted out right quick.

You can undo these two unions to try to find the black disc from the heater bypass.

It is probably in the line and it might interfere with the SWG Flow switch.

Note that that specific heater union is difficult to reinstall.

It has very fine threads that never seem to line up correctly for some reason.

And, I believe the flow switch itself just unscrews (black hex cap with the wire going in through the middle). Mine that looks like that does. Just make sure that when you put it back in, it is lined up like it originally was, if the black cap itself doesn't have a direction of flow arrow. You can then make sure the whole length of pipe you took off is clear, with no obstruction, as JamesW noted.

(My error on my prior response - I failed to note that your earlier post about a heater was from 2018!)
