painting PVC

I have about 5' of white PVC for the connected SPA that stands out like a sore thumb. I am debating painting it brown to blend in..Has about painted PVC and if so what kind of paint worked?
I have seen spray paint at Walmart for plastic but wasn't sure if that would work on PVC of just flake off

Painting PVC pipe

I think I need to get around to painting the new PVC pipe on my equipment pad and for my solar install before the summer ... thinking that it protects the pipe from the solar UV. But, I seem to recall some discussion that the paint does not actually protect the PVC from sun, so I am wondering...

I use the Rustoleum 2X paint and primer in one spray paint. Home depot/lowes have them for $4 a can in many colors. Most of them say that they are good for plastics, but i buy the one with the picture of outdoor patio furnature on it when its for plastic. It probably doesnt matter and is all the same paint but they put different pictures on them to make idiots like me happier.

With painting anything, prep is the key. Scuff with a Scotch Bright pad or sand paper and clean with acetone or alcohol and anything will stick to it.

I painted my stuff with RustOleum and the color matched my filter perfectly. It definitely helps it "fade from view" by not being glaringly "white!"
