Can anyone help ID the mfg and parts list (rebuild kit) fot my old bronze pool pump? Lools to be long out of production and can not find parts/seal kit. Is there an alternative PN or model that has a rebuild kit that will work?
Looks like an antique Aquaflo bronze pump that someone stuck a Sta-Rite Max-E-Glass 1 pot on. Not sure why one would want to spend the outrageous amount of money it would cost to restore it, but some parts are available still. The assembly in the picture is between $1100.00 and $1300.00 depending on where it is purchased.
Impellers are available for Aquaflo for $120.00 - $240.00.
The shaft extension is about $25.00 if you can't remove the existing from the motor. It needs to be loose on the shaft to adjust the clearance from the volute to the front of the impeller.
You make your own gasket if one can't be found. A sharp knife and cereal-box cardboard coated with a thin layer of silicone sealant works every time, I did it more times than I can remember.
If the impeller is worn, it is likely that the volute is so scratched that the pump would be more in-efficient than they already were.
Keyed-shaft pool motors can still be found, but are not in compliance with DOE regulations.
