Oval AGP - Solar Roller - request for pics

We have our AGP in a tight spot. On top of that only one end would be OK for the stairs, or the roller.

One long side is close to house, other long side is close to fence.

We're opting to put the solar reel for the blanket on the fence side - this will mean using the 24ft cover length on a 26-27 foot pole - to be determined, measuring with our post hole digger person shortly.

The only other options are to put the reel on the same side as the stairs, back further, and have it clear the 6 feet of stair railings (or to put the roller across the middle of the pool ruining our pool entirely. There's no room for a swing out unless we had it cut in 2 pieces, and I'd rather not mount anything to the pool honestly. Being so close to property/other properties I am wary of adding stress to the pool.)

If anyone's done this either a custom build or a purchased reel with this long a pole can you let me know your thoughts on why / why not for it working?

ALSO - how much clearance do I need? Can my reel/roller sit flush with my pool and just get pulled a bit up and over (assuming longer straps to ensure it sits nicely on the pool) or should it be well over my pool or level with it?

Next question - since have wide ledges on the top (9" or12") then I don't need cover on that part - so the internal dimensions should be 24 feet long by 12 wide, BUT if I sit my posts flush with the outside edge of my pool ledges (the top part - whatever they're called, above the coping) then - I should be OK. What I mean is I don't need to go 2 feet longer on either side. LOVE this design. Wondering if I'd be prudent at 25-26 feet of span to go 2" abs vs the 1.5" they recommend.

How about installing the roller on the same end as the stairs and cutting out notches in the cover for the stair rails? You can then swing it to either side to get it out of the way.

Oh I didn't consider the swing out of the way mount, that's not a bad idea at all. Would do it the other end, so I could pull and climb out, but that's reasonable too.
How heavy are those swing out of the way ones? Does anyone have a custom build?

Solved our problem - we had a swing out mount hidden in the playhouse where it'd been put aside. Have mounted on the side of the pool FOR NOW - it just rests on the long edge of the pool while we swim. It's EASY to roll, easy to lift, and the only thing is you have to be IN the pool to do it (not a problem since we use it to extend swimming.)
Woot. Thank goodness. If it looks to have pressure on it, we will install a place to rest it, right outside the pool too.
