Our pool is green and pool store says to replace sand

When you did the TA test, you added 2 drops of thiosulfate, then 5 drops of reagent #008? The sample should turn green at this point. Then you start adding reagent #9 1 drop at a time swirling between drops. You stop adding drops when the solution turns red. It may not look like a true red. See this video for more info: https://www.google.com/search?clien...nstructions#kpvalbx=_1vi7YOKvB5XttQbo1I-wCA76
Yep I did it like the video. So I counted 16 of the #9 drops and it turned the bright pink.

You need to use muriatic acid to lower the pH to 7.2 Once the pH is lowered you can begin the SLAM Process.
You would add 65 ounces of 31.45 baume muriatic acid, let it circulate about 30 minutes and test again. The top of the pH scale for most home pool tests is 8.2, so your actual pH might be higher.
