It was clear then it rained a lot and turned green and has stayed green since may29.

When you did the TA test, you added 2 drops of thiosulfate, then 5 drops of reagent #008? The sample should turn green at this point. Then you start adding reagent #9 1 drop at a time swirling between drops. You stop adding drops when the solution turns red. It may not look like a true red. Yep I did it like the video. So I counted 16 of the #9 drops and it turned the bright pink.
So you have a TA of 160. You don't need to add any more baking soda. Did you test pH after adding baking soda?
You need to use muriatic acid to lower the pH to 7.2 Once the pH is lowered you can begin the SLAM Process.

Keep it up and keep taking the advice! My pool was a swamp this year and we were swimming today! You will get their and also have a much better understanding of what your pool needs and when!
Thank you all for the help. I added the acid and have set a timer. My husband suggested that if this doesn’t work I should go back to the pool store.

What's not to work? We haven't even started the slam yet! The pool didn't get this way overnight and there's no secret potion that will clear it up overnight. Ask all the questions you need. One of us will be here to help!
Did you add it slowly in front of a return jet? And your pump is running? If so then yes you need to add more MA

Each set of test results you post gives us an idea what is going on in your pool water and what the next step is to fix it. It's a very methodical approach. The pool store is "Shot Gunning" it. If you've never heard that term, they are shooting at the problem with a shotgun in hopes of lucking out and hitting a solution.
