Orka Pump / Century ECM27SQU Motor

Good morning everyone. I am a new pool owner, and the PB had to replace my pump after the initial install, because it was leaking water from the O ring. The pump they put on is working correctly it appears, but when doing some research on the pump and motor to get a better understanding of what I have, I can not find the combo listed anywhere. I am wondering if they pieced this pump and motor together, which is fine if they are compatible. My motor is the Century ECM27SQU @2.7HP, and the pump is a Carvin Orka 94028925 70RK-S. Can anyone with experience tell me if this is okay? When i got to Carvin website i do not see this large of a motor listed for this pump. I am just worried that the PB may have given me something that may give me issues down the road. I may be overthinking this, as i stated they are working correctly from what I can tell.

I have a 10,500 galloon pool, Jandy true Clear SWG, Carvin Sand Filter, and the pump and motor combo listed above.

Thanks for any assitance.

Chris

The ECM27SQU motor (V-Green 2.7, now discontinued) is a very good motor with a maximum 2.7 total horsepower. Sounds like the builder had the motor and the wet-end and just put them together, which isn't an issue as that motor usually cost more than a complete Carvin pump.
The horsepower of the motor varies with the rpm set to run. It will be just fine on that pump. The number you gave for the pump body is for a 3/4hp pump, so the rpm may have to be a little higher to get enough flow for the SWG to work. But, that is one of the great things about a VSP, you dial in what you need and nothing more. Saves energy, among other things.

Thank you so much for the feedback 1poolman1. I have been trying to figure this out all morning. I have been running my pool 24/7 from what i have read on this forum. I have it set from 7a-9a to run at 2500 rpm, and then from 9a-7a at 1200 rpm. My SWG is not active right now with the North Georgia water temp here being well below 50 degrees. I was concerned that the 3/4 HP was suppose to match up with the motor HP of 2.7. Glad there are people like you that are much smarter on this matter, and do not mind sharing.
