Opps..I backwashed for 4 hours!

I was back washing my sand filter and got distracted. Instead of the usual 2 minutes, I had it running for about 4 hours. Needless to say, a lot of water was missing when I realized my error. I shut the skimmer line and did a rinse for a couple of minutes, then shut the pump down. I'm refilling now. Could I have caused any damage to anything?

I don't think so, unless the pump lost prime and was running dry(?)

It might be a good idea to check the sand volume inside your filter. It should be about 2/3 full.
