Opening pool to dreaded green swamp in VA

My question is this. My initial numbers are:

FC: 0
CC: 0
Alkalinity: 60
Calcium hardness:100
CYA: 0

My question is do I need to bring up CYA before starting SLAM to make this most effective? TIA.

We recommend adding enough to bring your CYA to 30.

Can I also go ahead and get Alkalinity and CH in order while bringing up CYA before SLAM or should I wait until afterwards? Thanks.

Ok, my readings now are:

CYA: 20 (Note, I squeezed sock on front of supply line this afternoon.
Alkalinity: 70
CH: 125
pH: > 8.2

Do I need to lower pH prior to SLAM and can I work on Alkalinity and CH now as well? Thanks.
