Opening AND transitioning to SWG

HI!
I'm opening my pool right now. Water is clear after removing my winter cover! Yay!

Okay. Last year, it was a liquid chlorine pool.
This year, I'm currently installing an SWG.

Do I need to shock the pool first before adding my salt and turning on the SWG?

Or, could I add the salt, set my SWG to superchlorinate, and skip the liquid chlorine shock altogether?

What are your test results?

Raise FC to target level based on your CYA with liquid chlorine. Then set the SWCG to generate 3ppm FC per day and monitor FC level in pool. Adjust SWCG generation as needed.

Be sure to check the present salt level of the pool water before adding any salt. You may be surprised at the present salt content.

And change your CYA to recommended levels for SWG..

You can easily take your FC to SLAM levels if you want, I did when I opened..
