We just had a new liner placed and the pool will be done being filled by our local fire department this evening. My question is how do I proceed with testing the water and in which order should I add. I use TFP test kit and app, but just not sure on the most advantageous way to proceed In these circumstances. Chlorine is paramount. Add 3 ppm FC worth.
No CYA, so add 30 ppm worth of dry stabilizer using the sock method.
Test pH. Adjust to the 7's.
Test TA and CH for Poolmath.
Once things are well mixed, start to address items to meet What Are My Ideal Pool Levels?

After filling your new pool, follow these steps:
Test the water with your TFP kit.
Adjust pH if needed.
Balance alkalinity.
Check calcium hardness and adjust if necessary.
Test and adjust chlorine and stabilizer levels.
Enjoy your pool

FYI -- Calcium is not needed for a vinyl liner pool.
