Omnilogic Programming Question

So I set up my Omnilogic control unit and told it which valve was the suction and which was the return. I have a pool and spa on the same pump. Everything things seems to be working correctly. For instance, when I select pool, it turns the suction valve to suck from pool and return to pool, when I select spa it sucks from spa and returns to pool. But what if I want to override it, is there a way to make it suck from spa and return to pool? For instance, if I want to drain the spa into the pool? Or do I just have to manually change the valves to do that?

I guess no body knows the answer?

Essentially, I suppose what I am asking is how, or if it is even possible, to override the slave function of the suction and return valves. Normally when suction valve is set to pool, return is automatically also set to pool and visa versa when suction is set to spa, return is set to spa. So my question is, is there a way to override this slave function in Hayward Omilogic programming so that you can have suction set to spa and return set to pool?

jj,

I have the EasyTouch, but basically all these automation systems are about the same.. I doubt that there is a way to automate, or schedule, what you want to do, but you should be able to do it in the Service mode.. The EasyTouch has a valve button on the main panel that can put the Suction valve in the Spa drain position, but only in the Service mode. I bet your system has something similar.

If that fails, then you could just use the little toggle switch on the bottom of the actuator to manually rotate the suction valve to the Spa position when you want to drain the Spa.

Not sure why you did not get an answer to your original post, as we have plenty of OmniLogic owners..

Thanks,

Jim R.
