HI, we have recently bought a house which has a buster Crabbe inground pool that was prob put in the 80's...it sits within a wooden structure.. recent rain/snow/freeze/thaw has meant that the pool has failed, and has buckled on one side, ripping the liner and the paving around has come up. We just had a pool guy here and he said that these pools are illegal now? and therefore cannot be fixed, has to be replaced with a new pool? Does anyone on here have a pool like this?

Aussie,

I believe that Dr. Zarkov and Flash banished all of them to the Planet of Mongo in an effort to drown Emperor Ming the Merciless.

Your pool and that serial show have seen their day.

Let's see what our other member might have to say...

Thanks,

Jim R.

Hey AiU and Welcome !!! Sorry to be meeting like this.

Buster Crabbe pools still show up every now and again , like this one. Got any pics so we can admire the pool that outlived its peers by a decade or two ? Maybe we'd see another angle.

A quick Google search doesn't come up with any wooden pool bans in NY, but that doesn't mean your municipality hasn't banned them locally. My money is on your pool guy didn't know what else to say.
