Odd Shaped Pool (and varying height) Need Pool Cover or solution to raise temp 10-15

We have a odd shaped pool as well as varying height of the surround. The area by the water slide (see Picture) is about 2-3 feet above the water line. I am interested in getting a solar covers as my kids and kids friends are not interested in swimming in the pool at 75 degree. It needs to be about 10 degree warmer. The pool is on the north side of the house and protected from the sun by a few very large trees. Our neighbor's pool is about 10-15 degree warmer (same exposure to the north) but no tree cover. I see our choices cutting down beautiful old oak trees, as heating w/o pool cover (ugh $$$), heating with pool cover (partial ugh $), solar (our roof is about 45 feet above pool equipment for southern exposure), heat pump (electric is expensive in TX) or I just came across the Hotspot FPH AC heat reclamation pool heater which looks interesting.

My thoughts are the best bet may be a pool cover with limited gas heat. Can I get a pool cover cut to shape that I would be able to actually get our of the pool? Would I use some type of of boom in the middle of the pool that reaches all the way across that would allow me to reel in the cover? It cant be too junky looking or ridiculously expensive as the kids are not THAT important ;)

All thought are welcome and appreciated!

A regular solar cover can be cut to any shape. You buy one that will cover your entire pool, then cut to shape.

There are DIY solar reel plans from members on this forum. Are pretty simple and cheap. Search the forum for them.

Take care.
