Looking for input. Wife and I disagree (Imagine that!) on this design decision. The pool has a 18" raised BB on the back wall and the spa. We are putting stone on the raised wall part. I want to continue and wrap the stone around the spa wall, (pool facing ) so everything raised 18" is stone. She wants to do the waterline tile on the face of the spa where the water from the pool matches. So basically the spa face. Does that make sense?

Comments, ideas, suggestions.

I'm not sure I've got the picture correctly in my mind of the spa plan. I'll just say this - my experience with glass tile is this: all of my glass tile that is either 100% out of the water or 100% under the water looks great - no maintenance issues. My glass tile under sheer descents or on water line requires more cleaning, a lot more than my standard 6x6" waterline tile in the pool area. (only my spa has glass tile waterline). The glass tile impacted the most is under my sheer descents.

What a great match! They look like there were made with each other in mind!

Now think about mortar and grout as both will influence the glass tile. Put the glass tile on something white, off white, tan, etc out side where you will have it. See what you like the best.

Got a full sheet today. Was planning white, off-white, grey, light grey,,,thinset and grout to see if one makes on pop more....

Also wife wants a darker lagoon looking pool. Was thinking plaster and deep blue/gray... anyone have input on how you think that will match up or does it need to?

Was finally able to get some more work done. Coping and deck are in. Pictures attached. Tile and rock today (Sat the 1st)IMG_20170630_060909.jpg

Do you have your test kit yet? If not look in my siggy for the one I think is the best bang for the buck. Go ahead and order it now so you can test your fill water and I can make you a shopping list so you will have what you need to get it balanced fast.

Kim. I do have the kit with all the goodies...

I did an initial test..Not sure of the results..I need to practice.

FC - 1.5
CC - 0.5
TC - 2.0
TA - 100
CH - 75

Was thinking everything was low..and would practice several more times.

Going with Pebble Sheen and SWG if that matters

Should be filling with water in about 3 weeks..:)

I don't see the PH results. That one is very important for the plaster.

Here is your shopping list:

2 2-cup plastic measure cups-one for muratic acid and one for everything else. Make sure they have the oz. marked on them
1 white plastic plate to help with the color matching unless you have an easy to use white wall or such to hold the tube in front of.
1 condiment squirt bottle to water pulls. Makes it easy to squirt the correct amount of water for the tests.

Look around for:

-easy to get to place to get liquid chlorine or bleach..........plain, unscented bleach (Walmart or Target) or chlorine (pool store)
-Muratic acid-look for full strength (31%) found outside by pool stuff at Lowes and such.
-something or place to store the muratic acid-it should not be by the chlorine or metal. The fumes do not play well with either one.

Tony...Thanks. I found this site a little late in the game and played catch up. Everyone here is more that helpful. Wish I would have started earlier and done more work myself..

Kim.. I did not write that down but remembered it was 7.2. I will start shopping. Thanks for all the help.

Beautiful!!! I'm always surprised how much I like the browns for tile (especially glass tile Lol!!). But I love the contrast when the water is in. The browns and blues next to each other seem to bring out the best in both the colors.

This is getting exciting!!!! :bounce::bounce::bounce:

Now write down you fill water levels and put them in your test kit to help you remember them. You have great PH water!

Yeah I see what you did there............showing off all of the pretty tile and rock!!! LOL
