Nothing But Issues with Pentair Intellivalve

There have been some reports of failures, but not multiple. What issues are you having exactly?

Unit stops moving, auto light red and service light becomes yellow. This has happened 2 times in a year and a half.

I have 3 IntelliValves that have been in use for over 3 years w/o any issues (touch wood). Hopefully you can get it replaced again under warranty. What type of valve is it installed on (Pentair/Hayward/Jandy) and is the valve used frequently, i.e. water feature?

I suggest removing the IntelliValve actuator and putting the handle on the valve to see if it turns freely by hand. It should move easily with only a little bit of resistance. If it feels like it’s hard to turn or binds up while turning it, then the valve itself needs to be opened up and rebuilt. There are several O-rings in the valve and the shaft o-rings have a small split bushing between them to allow for rotational sealing. Those o-rings tend to see the most wear and tear and if they start to disintegrate or tear, they can easily bind up the handle making it very hard to turn. That will definitely cause an actuator to fail.
