North Dallas New Construction

Thanks JamesW. I know they used a torch to add some heat. It just got done being filled early this morning. I will post some pics. PB is supposed to be brushing/startup/etc for a week. Leaves already in bottom of pool. (hopefully they won't stain. It looks amazing but I don't trust too many people/contractors and am always suspect. Perhaps a little too much. QUOTE=JamesW;1547150]Seems a little cold to me, but probably doable. I would be concerned about them adding too much calcium chloride to accelerate the plaster setting time.

So, you all told me that the automation through Pentair was a "good choice" - 2 months into running it and I get an error message stating "pump 1 communication lost" - I can't turn on anything. Landscape lighting works as "scheduled" but I can't reset, use spa, nothing! Any suggestions? Tried reseting, nothing works. PB suggested it was my filter that needs cleaned and shut system down. Doesn't make sense to me.

Mike,

Your pool builder is an idiot!!! The EasyTouch controls the pump via a digital cable... For some reason the ET and pump are no longer communicating..

Go out to your IntelliFlo pump and see if the screen has lights... See what it says... For the pump to be controlled by the ET the Pump's screen must say "Display Not Active"...

See if you can turn the pool light on/off using your ScreenLogic system. If you can, then that means the main board in the EasyTouch is working fine, communications wise.

Let me know the answers to my questions and we can go from there..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Ok Jim, you just made me laugh out loud. You rock! Here's the deal...I had the guy who programed equipment come out and he knows what's up and is certified by Pentair. He told me it "was a loose wire". It does now say "display not active" - after he fixed the wire and all is working. Now he has to come back out the house because the Spa Side remote doesn't communicate and we even had the transmitter moved closer to the pool (about 20 feet away).

The pool lights did work and the landscape lighting is on there too...they were programed and shut off at the right time, but the button on APP still showed that program running. Now it appears to be fine.

I feel like I have to know how to program the entire panel box in order for me to fix anything. I've read the manual and will have to again and again to fully get the gist. Still trying to figure out how to have one color light in pool and a different color in spa at the same time. It's like trying to build a plane. ha ha ha

Thank you for the assist again. And for making me smile. I appreciate it.

Mike,

The reason that I wanted you to turn on the pool light was to determine if the com port on the main board in the EasyTouch was working... I had you use ScreenLogic to do this because ScreenLogic just sends instructions over the com port. Any schedule already in the EasyTouch would still work, even if the com port had failed, so your landscape lights turning on and off on "schedule" does not test if the com port is working.. But, if you tell ScreenLogic to turn on the pool light, the only way for this to happen is for ScreenLogic to send the command over the com port to the EasyTouch...

Actually, if you had programmed the system, you would have already know the answer to your problem... :p I am not saying you should have programmed it, just that to program it, you obviously need to understand what is happening in the background.

It is a little like Magic.. On the surface it seems impossible to understand how they did the trick.. But once you find out, you realize how simple it really is..

I have one simple white light, so I have no way to verify the lighting programing. I do know you have to have the lights set up as IntelliBrite and assigned to the special light page. Take advantage of the Pentair guy and have him show you how it is done the next time he is out there..

I have seen a recent post, I'll see if I can find it..

Thanks,

Jim R.
