Nophos question

What happens to your filter if you put 1/2 bottle nophos after flushing, but forgot to add DE?

they said use half bottle and run 48 hours. Bottle also says water wo t get milky. Water got milky and pressure soared after a few hours. Flushed it again early then added more nophos but forgot to add more DE

To be clear, you backwashed your filter, added more Nophos, and did not recharge your filter with DE after the backwash?

If so then you need to open up your filter and clean the grids. A backwash is not going to clean them.

Welcome to the forum!
Just do not fall for the pool store potions. Phosphates are rarely a concern for a pool owner. Maintain your water chemistry properly and they just do not matter. See Recommended Levels
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.

If you keep a proper chlorine level (in relation to your CYA level) then that won’t matter.
