To make this part short- my kids begged me for a pool 2 yrs ago. Nice big yard (on a slant) with only a small level area in the whole yard. Not wanting to commit, I bought a 48 in × 16 (or 18) foot pool. I threw away the stock filter and bought a better one. I believe the pool holds close to 5,100 gallons?
Where I am..after closing last yr my cover came off and put a bunch of leaves and gunk in the pool. I have leaf raked as much as I can. Water was cloudy, green. I shocked with 2 lbs of shock. It's not green, just grey and cloudy. Running filter non stop. I decided today there's likely still a bunch of junk, so I've been running the vacuum. I admittedly have no idea what I'm doing or where to begin. I've read through forums and gathered that I need to get more chlorine in my pool (still reading 0) and skip all the extra junk. But I don't know how much or how often. I have a test kit- ph was low end of normal, CYA high, alkalinity normal. I tested earlier and don't have exact readings.
I've maintained this little pool for 2 seasons now and I always manage to get it right.. but I'm literally over here winging it til I sticks. I can add more info tmrw when it's day time. Thanks!!
