Nidec Neptune VS board failure

I have installed 2 new Nidec Neptune NPTQ165 's from Amazon. Both boards failed immediately by locking into Remote Mode. Following the instructions in the manual and from technical support did not solve the problem. These have been a huge waste of my time and left me with a stagnant pool. I wanted these to work as the UI looks much nicer than the Century single button control. I found threads on reddit and elsewhere where multiple others had the same problem. Inyo only sells the 2.7hp version of this motor. I wonder why? I have a Century EVQ165 on order.

Welcome to TFP.

Who was the Seller listed on the Amazon page?

@1poolman1 often recommends the NIdec motors.

If the motor starts up in remote mode(it should start up in standby) and you followed the instructions to exit remote and the screen froze, it’s faulty and should be returned. IMG_0262.jpeg
I reached out to Nidec tech support and was told it was faulty and the second motor similar to you was also faulty. The motors were on the same pallet but the dates suggest they weren’t manufactured at the same time. 76246387374__554EDB67-0869-409C-AF69-EA8C02462071.jpeg8331084682033688336.jpeghttpsacim.nidec.commotorsusmotors-mediausmotorsdocumentstechdocsserviceunitid_datecodes.ashxl...jpeg
The motors above were faulty.
I also reached out to nidec directly hoping to start a conversation about finding and pulling any future faulty motors. But they just repeated that the motor was bad and to return it. To clarify, I still use Neptune for budget motors, I just test them before installing them.
Do you have a picture of the plate or box?
