Newby Help - High Chems

Its generally *not* recommended to drain significantly with the pool pump. The bottom 2/3 puts undue strain on the motor to fight gravity to the pump. Plus, if you aren't babysitting it the whole time, any cavitation can cause the pump to run dry and burn out, especially on pools without main drains.

You can rent a pump from Home Depot. The one on I-35 near St. Edwards U. has a tool rental center.
I drained mine down 2/3 twice when I found this site. CYA was through the roof. Take your time, ask
any questions before, during or after. You can do this!
