It could also be dead algae as it looks like dirt as well. It "poofs" when you try to get near it to brush.
Haven’t picked up a baster yet - but it hasn’t gotten any worse. Added 2 gallons of bleach this morning- chlorine still seems low. I added it to the skimmer, is that the correct way to add?You can use @kimkats sample method, grab a turkey baster and suck some up, then qently squirt some on a paper towel, is it gritty, does it "disappear", is it slimy? etc![]()
Always add chlorine near the return jet(s). That way it can disperse with the flow of water. You rarely add anything directly to the skimmer simply because many chemicals are so strong.chlorine still seems low. I added it to the skimmer, is that the correct way to add?
Inlet (skimmer/suction) = in to the pump (out of the pool)Ok, I have been in the Plumbing biz since I was old enough to help my dad, so bare with me. When I hear return, I think sucking (supply would be pressure “blowing”). You guys are referring to the jets blowing out in the pool as the return jets, correct? I guess looking at it another way, it’s the water returning to the pool from the pump?
