I guess my question mainly is in regards to ph. When you have achieved your "balance" ......can you expect any sort of consistency? As in once i have gotten the balancing act down a bit lol......should i expect the Ph to be constantly changing? Or should it stay a while until somthing throws it out of whack ie: rain , swimmer load etc. I check my chlorine and PH everyday, i just want to know if i should expect constant fluctuations or if i see it moving about if its a sign of other potential issues i should look for. And thank everyone that has contributed to this site, and to all the great people willing to patiently share their knowledge and experiences.

kd,

Your pool uses a certain amount of FC every day... the more people, or the more sun, the faster the FC will be consumed...

pH really depends on several things.. Some people have stable pH, while others find it is constantly increasing.. Aeration from people and water features will cause your pH to increase. High TA in the pool or in your fill water will cause your pH to increase.

We often find members that for some reason want to keep their pH at 7.2.. It is better to let pH drift up and not try to bring it back down to until it gets above 7.8.

Thanks for posting,

Jim R.
