Newbie salt water pool owner

Hello,
We are moving to a new home that currently has a salt water pool. We are inexperienced with pool maintenance and are seeking to gather information and be better educated to be able to maintain our pool.
Hope that learn from the listed posts and forums.
Thanks in advance to everyone is willing to inform us so we can do the same in the future for other newbies.

Buying a house with a pool brings many onto this site. (That's how I started). Read the links above several times. Buy a test kit you can trust. (TF-100 is great). Just remember, a saltwater pool IS a chlorine pool, but you are generating the chlorine on the fly. You still need to understand the chlorine/CYA balance.

There are a ton of people happy to share their knowledge here.... people who don't have a commercial interest in you. Feel free to reach out here first before seeking advise from a pool store employee.
