New to TFP, new to pool ownership, extremely lost and I think I messed up

Yes, that is the stuff.

Do you have pool math? Link-->PoolMath
Yes, I have this. This is what I used when we went to Menards and got the original list of chemicals. My fear though was I searched based on what it said you will use, and then realized the chemical names didn't add up.

But this is all very helpful. I am going to run to Menards again and grab the muriatic acid and some more chlorine jugs and restart this process. THANK YOU BOTH

This stuff is good then?
Hard to judge from a pic but it looks like a small container, and those tend to be expensive per pound.

Walmart, Lowes and Home Depot all have cyanuric acid/ stabilizer in the pool section. They rotate who has the better deal so Google it up before going. Or Amazon it and save the trip. It's rare you need it *today* with no warning.

I'm confused. You have time tonight and in the morning. You should be checking and replacing if you can. Long times between additions lengthens the SLAM considerably.

It's 640 here now, finished everything at about 620. I'm usually in bed by 8. I can do it in the am, but then I'm gone from 630 til 5 tomorrow.

Should I still check it tonight again before 8?
"At the beginning of your SLAM, the chlorine is used quickly to kill algae. As the algae is killed off, you can reduce your testing and chlorine additions to 2-3 times per day."

All of the algae appears to be gone already, it's just sort of a blue white milky color now.

Okay Hvstle, you are in bed now I'm certain, but what drops are you referring to? Which test are you giving us results for? You can let us know in the morning. Sweet dreams.

Switch to 10 ml samples and each drop is 1/2 FC. It'll save 2.5X the supplies.

Candidly, I have no idea what I am doing
And you don't need to.

You need to tell us what our test kit says at your house. If you tell us that, we know what to do about it. Your job until/as you learn is to count drops. :)
